Signing of Renewal of Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding 

Statement by Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, Permanent Representative

    Her Excellency Under Secretary General in the Department of Global Communications, Ms. Melissa Fleming and dear colleagues,

     It gives me great satisfaction that we have signed the Renewal of Amendment to the MoU, that established the Hindi@UN project in March 2018. Our profound thanks to the Department of Global Communications for making this possible. 

    This signing testifies the commitment of Government of India to the continuation of Hindi
Project for a period of five years. 

     I have been informed that the Hindi Team is now full-fledged in terms of manpower and we look forward to a fulfilling and productive team work that reflects the aspirations of the Government of India. 

     In addition to the traditional formats such as TV, we would like the Hindi project to make forays into the social media such as Youtube and WhatsApp, which have greater traction with the young population preferring these platforms. I would like to request Ms. Melissa Fleming to assist the Hindi Team to be more active in these areas as well. 

   As we usher in another chapter in our working relations from the Multilingualism perspective, we look forward to a mutually fruitful association and wish the Dept of Global Communications and the Hindi Team the very best in their endeavours.
