Funding support to the Republic of Belarus

As requested by the Government of the Republic of Belarus, India will provide a grant of US$ one million from the India-UN Development Partnership Fund for the project, strengthening the national capacity of the Republic of Belarus in preventing child abuse and support service provision to the victims of violence.

The project will strengthen the national system on preventing child abuse and support service provision to the victims of violence through consolidating inter-agency cooperation, facilitating early detection of cases of child abuse, and enhancing effective referral mechanisms.

Partnering with Belarus in a project of national importance is a reflection of India’s deep rooted ties with Belarus, encompassing all spheres of relationship.

The India-UN Development Partnership Fund, established by Government of India in June 2017, provides support to projects in developing countries that aim to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The Fund adheres to the principles of South-South cooperation and places a priority on national ownership and leadership, equality, sustainability, development of local capacity and mutual benefit. A total of US$ 150 million has been committed by the Government of India for this Fund.
