India Commits $300,000 to Support the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States

As part of its efforts to support Small Island Developing States, India has pledged a contribution of $300,000 to support Antigua and Barbuda for hosting the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States on 27-30 May 2024.

Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, officially presented the cheque to H.E. Walton A. Webson, the Permanent Representative of Antigua and Barbuda, during the SIDS4 Fundraising Roundtable held today.

This contribution once again underscores India’s commitment to strengthen the voice of the Global South, by reaffirming its support to countries in special situations. India had earlier pledged a similar contribution towards the organisation of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in January 2024.
