Resolution on Cooperation between United Nations and Central European Initiative
India’s Explanation of Vote (POST VOTING)
Statement by Mr. Raghoo Puri, First Secretary
6 December, 2024
Mr. President,
India fully supports and appreciates the active efforts of the Central European Initiative in cooperating with the United Nations system and relevant internationaland regional organizations for furthering political and socioeconomic development and for achieving Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
However, we note that globally we are quite some distance in achieving our 2030 Agenda and our leaders recently agreed upon a roadmap to accelerate our efforts and give a new momentum and push for achieving them. We believe that politicization of developmental initiatives for achieving the SDGs and meeting the 2030 Agenda is not the way foward. Any Politicization will not be helpful in global efforts to attain our common goals.
We call on all countries to set aside political differences and work in collaboration to attain the SDGs that we collectively strive for.
I thank you, Mr. President.
